Hello, I'm Miranda, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Practitioner (CCTP). My journey in mental health is rooted in my Master of Arts in Psychology from Brandman University and my Bachelor’s in Middle Eastern Studies. As an Army veteran and a published author, my life experiences include grief, illness, divorce, blended families, late-age parenting, from-birth disabilities, and more.

I find great fulfillment in relating personally to my clients' life circumstances, fostering rapport, and creating a safe space for you during your time of need. My primary goal is to establish a professional relationship with you and your loved ones, ensuring a sense of safety and confidence in our sessions.

In addition to traditional therapy, I also offer equine assisted therapy at our farm, Hillhaven Hollow. This unique approach combines the healing power of horses with therapeutic techniques to help clients overcome challenges and achieve personal growth.

In our work together, I provide client-centered therapy tailored specifically for you. Utilizing a trauma-informed lens, I draw on various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Humanistic-Experiential Therapy to guide you towards the positive changes you seek.

As a Certified Clinical Trauma Practitioner, I bring a unique blend of experience and advanced training to support individuals dealing with trauma. Trauma is a multifaceted aspect of mental health, encompassing both psychological and physical dimensions. Whether you've personally experienced trauma or witnessed it affecting a loved one, seeking a supportive environment is crucial for navigating its lasting impact.

Trauma manifests differently in each person, but if you resonate with any of the following, trauma-related treatment may be beneficial:

  • You're haunted by a traumatic event replaying in your mind.

  • You've witnessed a traumatic incident involving a loved one.

  • Graphic details of a traumatic event, such as witnessing someone's passing, linger in your thoughts.

  • Day-to-day tasks become challenging due to anxiety or concerns stemming from a traumatic event.

  • Your child, who has experienced trauma, is struggling with school.

If you believe trauma-related care is essential for your well-being, please don't hesitate to reach out today. I am honored to assist you on this leg of your life journey.
